We’re happy to announce that we’re nominated for the ‘Best Apps Ever Award‘. Every year they select the best and not just the best selling, as they claim on the website. Along other great apps we made it to the short list and be honored if you’d vote for us!

Although Switzerland is quite a small country with close to 8M inhabitants, it is a hub for many startups. Every year, the government registers more that 35,000 new companies with a trend to even more. A board of 100 experts has been asked to vote their most successful Swiss startups, and we feel especially honored to be voted among these top 100 startups out of a total of 200,000 startups founded since 2006.

Finally it’s officially here, our latest baby: Memonic for Salesforce. The idea is simple: Combine the best of both.

Salesforce is a great tool for structured sales automation, yet it’s pretty difficult to add that client research to your lead or account record. Memonic is great note-taking application, and pretty good at exactly that: note taking and web clipping.

With the combination of both worlds you can now literally ‘Put the Web into Salesforce’.

Neat idea right? Salesforce thought so, too and voted us Runner-Up Best Cloud App 2011 at this year’s Dreamforce conference in San Francisco.

Every year the readers of the German Computer Bild magazine vote for the best IT products. This year we were nominated in the category “Apps”. So yesterday I went to Berlin to find out if it amounted to anything. Considering that the ubiquitous Angry Birds was nominated in the same category didn’t let us hope for much.

You can imagine my surprise when I learned that we actually won! We are very happy about this honor!

When the moderator Barbara Schöneberger asked me why we won, the only answer I could think of in the moment was “because it’s useful”. Apparently the voters also prefer well-organized notes over a quick game break. So thank you everybody who voted for us!

Overall 34 awards in 12 categories were handed out. The list of winners is online.

This blog post is dedicated to YOU – and it’s main purpose is to say THANK YOU!

We reached the TOP 4 of the AppQuest 2011 contest! This means that Memonic – together with our partner PARX – will fly to the Dreamforce Conference in San Francisco! There we will be able to present our Memonic Clipper for Salesforce in front of the audience and the jury. Will we be the winner eventually? We don’t know yet – but of course we hope for the best and keep you posted.
