Today’s changes: More Salesforce goodness

Again we released a small update yesterday.

This release features several bug fixes that result in a more stable Memonic.

But we also worked extensively again on the Memonic for Salesforce product.

Improved Sharing on Chatter

With the latest release Salesforce has released new functionality for Chatter. And we have followed suit. After clipping you can simply press the “Share” button to add additional comments for your co-workers to a Memonic note.

Aloha Professional & Group Editions

Finally we are a fully compatible Aloha application. That means that Memonic for Salesforce now works well in the two smaller Salesforce editions: Group and Professional. We’re still waiting for final approval of our new app version in AppExchange. While that is pending we have a small howto on how you can enable our product in your Professional or Group edition Salesforce instance.

Memonic for Salesforce update

We updated Memonic for Salesforce this week with several changes.

Fist of all, you can connect your clipper with Evernote. Once that’s done all notes will be saved to Salesforce as well as to Evernote. Using Evernote’s clients, that’s a great way to have all the relevant information available offline as well.

Memonic for Salesforce: Connect to Evernote

After saving a note with Memonic for Salesforce you can assign it to a Salesforce item, currently either a contact, account, lead, opportunity or a case. With this release we have greatly improved the way we show you those items. First of all you’ll see the same Recent Items list that you see in Salesforce itself. Then when you start typing to search we show you a lot more information per item.

Auto completion in Memonic for Salesforce

This update was applied automatically, you do not need to manually upgrade the package in Salesforce.

Convenient Blogging with the Memonic WordPress Plugin

Today we’re happy to present another goodie to help you with your information curation using Memonic. ‘You’ in this case is most appropriate if you’re a blogger and using WordPress to do so.

So let us introduce the WordPress Memonic plugin!
What does it do? First and foremost it makes writing articles much more convenient by giving you access to your collected wisdom in Memonic write at your fingertips. The plugin adds a Memonic box to your ‘Edit Post’ screen right below the editor area and lets you navigate your entire collection (yes, that’s including the notes in groups you have access to). Having access to your notes makes it extremely simple to insert quotes or references to sources you found during your research to the article your writing.

You may insert the excerpt of a note, the complete note or just links to either the source of the note or the note itself. And we didn’t stop there: to make it even easier for you to find the note you’d like to reference we added sorting to the list of notes. Hover over the note and the appropriate actions will pop up.

If you like to integrate parts of your Memonic collection into your blog as is, the plugin features a WordPress widget to integrate the Memonic badge to your sidebar. Just choose the folder to display, edit the other options if you like – and presto!
You may define as many Memonic widgets as you like.

Installing the plugin is straight forward as the plugin is hosted on WordPress’ repository. Go to the plugin page of your WordPress installation, click ‘Install’ at the top of the page and then search for Memonic. Install the Memonic plugin right from the result list. Once you have activated the plugin, go to your user’s profile page and enter your Memonic credentials to allow access to your collection.

So, happy blogging and let us know about additional features you’d like to see!

Image annotation for screenshot mode

Friday was a good day. Not only was it the end of a work week for most of us, but we also released a new version of Memonic, now supporting image annotation in the clipper’s screenshot mode. This is very exciting as it let’s you draw rectangles, arrows and text directly onto the website clipped.

When clicking “save” it get’s added to your notes, looking exactly the same as you sketched it before. Isn’t that exciting?

Have a look at the new features and enjoy them! Let us know what you think about them!

Put the Web into Salesforce: Memonic for Salesforce

Finally it’s officially here, our latest baby: Memonic for Salesforce. The idea is simple: Combine the best of both.

Salesforce is a great tool for structured sales automation, yet it’s pretty difficult to add that client research to your lead or account record. Memonic is great note-taking application, and pretty good at exactly that: note taking and web clipping.

With the combination of both worlds you can now literally ‘Put the Web into Salesforce’.

Neat idea right? Salesforce thought so, too and voted us Runner-Up Best Cloud App 2011 at this year’s Dreamforce conference in San Francisco.

Find out all about this on our dedicated website Memonic for Salesforce, or even better test drive it on Salesforce’s AppExchange or read today’s press release.
